Get Out Of Your Way

What are the real barriers that keep 2 out of 3 people from getting the exercise their bodies need? Life moves fast and many of us race to fit what we can into our days. Technology has us sitting idle at computers and it can be difficult to find the time and /or motivation to start an exercise routine. Every obstacle can be overcome and it’s up to you to fight the excuses.

SUGGESTIONS TO HELP YOU BREAK THE BARRICADES ARE:

  • Pick 30-minute time slots three days a week. What can you replace in your schedule to make exercise a top priority?
  • Choose a friend or family member to be accountable to, who will also support you.
  • If you feel too tired to exercise, try anyway for just 10 minutes. Chances are you will energize and exceed the time.
  • Plan ahead, write it into your calendar, bring your gym clothes to work or join a class.
  • Find parks, trails, malls or other convenient low cost resources in your community.
  • Get a jump rope, hula-hoop or work out DVD’s so weather doesn’t ruin your plans.

Think of exercise as your recess from life and obligations. This is your time set aside for you and your well being.
