The Extra Hour You’ve Been Looking For

Who doesn't desire an extra hour a day? If there were a way to gain that extra hour, how would you want to spend it? Odds are there is an endless list of activities to choose from.

TRY SOME OF THESE TIME SAVING HABITS TO LEAVE YOU FEELING MORE PRODUCTIVE AND LESS STRESSED:

  • Stay off email for an hour. Start a new habit of checking your email less often. If you have your email viewer open all day, try closing it while you work on a project.
  • Do the hardest 50% of your work in the first 90 minutes of your workday. The mornings tend to be the time that we are most alert and rested so our creativity and productivity levels are likely at their highest.
  • Delegate what you know isn’t worth your time. Take the time to explain the way you do things to the new owner of these tasks and support them as they learn, stumble and improve.
  • Sit for 60, move for 3. We all sit too much. Taking a 3-minute break every hour will be good for your body as well as your mind. Get up, stretch, do a few chair squats, walk around the hallway or just retrieve something from the printer. Now you have extra time to stop and get ingredients for a nutritious dinner you can share with family or friends.
