Packaged Not Processed
The general trend of eating whole foods for health is a simple concept, but not always as simple to prepare. Even with good intentions, people get busy, run late and need foods that are convenient, quick and require little or no planning. So what’s the alternative to the common packaged processed meals?
Here are a list of traditional packaged foods that are usually more processed and unhealthy compared to a better brand or food alternative straight from package to plate.
Frozen Pizza: Try brands like Kashi and Amy's
Chicken Nuggests/ Tenders: Applegate Naturals
Deli Meat: Applegate Organic
Cheese Dip: Hummus
Chips: Pistachio nuts
Sugary Cereals: Cereal with 5 grams or more of fiber

Remember, don’t confuse processed with packaged. There are now healthier alternatives for shopping at grocery chains that carry more wholesome brands and many of those brands are now available at the main chain stores also.
